Brandon was a smiley baby, and as a boy, he grew into a dreamer, getting his feet dirty, soaking up the sun, and always wandering just a little farther than he was told to…

As a teen, he fell in love with writing, making mixed CDs, strumming 6-strings, and developing little black & white scenes in a darkroom.

At 21, he road-tripped with a friend from Chicago to California. As they camped and hiked at 7 National Parks along the way, over those 23 days on the road the seeds for Oakenheart were planted:

“…There’s nothing quite like photo of a person, at a happy time in their life, — it’s a special kind of moment. Not just something to remember, but something unforgettable.”

As of today, Brandon lives in San Diego and he’s fortunate enough to honor life’s fleeting moments for a living.

His mission in Oakenheart is to draw on a lifetime of studying beauty to capture in permanence the songs and dances, shrieks of joy, and milestone moments that make for the most meaningful tales.

Violet sits squarely between:

“If you see beauty in everything, you’re probably an artist.” and “If you see beauty in everyone, you’re probably a romantic.”

At 17 she went to school for cosmetology to become a makeup artist, and later fell in love with bridal design, wishing to someday create dream dresses for that special day.

She got her first taste of photography when she ventured into modeling, learning what it was like to be in front of the camera. By the time she took a place behind the camera, she was quickly able to confidently pose and pull or let a moment breathe.

The makeup? Yes. The flowers? Of course. The tears? Same, girl. The vibe? Down for all of it.

Violet will make sure you never have a hair out of place, literally or figuratively. She will give you tips to really feel yourself. She’s your cheerleader behind the lens, ready to paint you in the best light possible.
